TRANSMISSION BODY MODIFICATIONS

Purpose: Improvement of fitment to car tunnel, improved driveline angle, reduction of shift rail flex

Description:

In 2003, Keisler changed the design to make the shifter remote mounted to the transmission.  The older design with shifter mounted on L-shaped top plate was eliminated.  Also included was a template and floor sheetmetal hump modifier, allowing the transmission to be raised to achieve original driveline angle.  Due to the major casting changes when Tremec introduced the TKO 500/600, upgrading to the newer design is costly.

HYDRAULIC CLUTCH KIT

Purpose: Elimination of chronic leak

Description:

In 2004, Keisler completely revised the hydraulic clutch kit to eliminate the chronically leaking McLeod / B&M concentric slave bearing.  The McLeod unit suffered from inadequate piston and fluid line seals, lack of preload spring, lack of dust boot and wiper seals, among other problems.  The problems resulted in frequent failures requiring removing of the transmission to service the bearing.  Additionally, bleeding the McLeod / B&M unit was problematic.

The new Keisler Hydraulic Clutch kit features a proprietary OE design hydraulic bearing rated for 1 million cycles, single line supply with integrated bleeder, forged aluminum housing, piston blow-out prevention among many other features. A recommended upgrade.
