`69 Plymouth Satellite convertible with Keisler A41 automatic overdrive.
We ran into Andy at the 2010 All Chrysler Nationals in beautiful Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Andy had a friend that was tearing down some condos and asked if he would be interested in "this old Plymouth" laying in the back of the property. Andy went to have a look and found this long forgotten Satellite in poor condition. A tree was growing up through the passenger floor and the seats could be removed without being unbolted. Needless to say it was a rusty hulk.
After some quick negotiations, Andy made a call to a friend with a tow truck to come drag the car out of the woods. Literally. He cleaned the spiders out of the distributor and got the 318 running without even adding gas! The drive was thwarted by dead brakes naturally.
Fast forward 4 years and the Satellite is now powered by a 440 backed up with a Keisler A41 automatic overdrive. We would like to commend Andy on his efforts breathing new life into this forgotten Satellite. It`s always nice to hear about a forgotten ride that has been revived and put back on the road. Great job Andy!

I have had the transmission almost a year, but just now getting all of the bugs out of the car. I put in new motor and transmission at the same time. Thought I would send you some pictures. I love the new transmission, I am able to cruise at 1600 to 1800 RPM.
Thanks,

Here are some pictures of Tom's car. I thought that the Keisler auto to manual kit was very easy to install and would highly recommend it to anyone thinking about attempting this type of conversion!

I just got back from a ride in my 69 R/T convertible with the Keisler TKO-600 and that thing put a smile on my face every time. It just purrs along with 27" tires and a 3.73 Dana 60, 75-80 mph on the highway is great. Gene and Richard were both great during the whole process!

Mike Joslin, OH, 1968 HEMI GTX 1 of 1 built: Just wanted to drop you line and let you know how satisfied I am with the new 4 speed automatic. I've had several trips to really put the transmission to the test and I'm happy to say it passed with flying colors! My fuel mileage has significantly increased and the low RPM highway cruising is wonderful. But my favorite feature is switching from the street to strip mode on the transmission with the push of a button. The higher line pressure and different shift points makes you feel like your running the quarter mile. Once again Keisler has done it. Keep up the good work and it won't be long before I'll be buying my fifth transmission from Keisler.

William Ross, ’70 Dodge Charger, 440 Magnum, Keisler PerfectFit 5-speed: “What a Difference! Highway travel was at about 3400 rpm before, and now I run 2400 RPM or so. I get tire-smoking out of the hole acceleration, too. I can’t wait to drive it with the new 528 Hemi I am installing!” |

Mike Joslin, ‘69 GTX Convertible, 440 CID, Keisler PerfectFit 5-speed: “The transmission performs flawlessly and is a joy to drive. I noticed a big difference in the horsepower at the rear wheels compared to my old automatic, and my fuel mileage has increased by about 35%. There is nothing like a neck-snapping first gear and the beauty of overdrive to travel to any destination I like. Great Job!” |
