I installed a TKO-600 kit in a 1966 Chevelle SS396 about 3 years ago. The car has a 4.10 rear gear and interstate driving was killing the car even at 55. The .64 overdrive really made it nice, and I still get that blast off the line of a low rear gear. It has been wonderful. Just wish you had the models back then where you don't have to cut the tunnels. That was a lot of extra work, but still worth it.
Sincerely,

I drive a 1968 Chevelle SS 396 that had an old Muncie 4 speed in it. There's a 454 HO crate motor under the hood and a 4.10 gear out back. I live near Pittsburgh, PA and let me tell you I never could have driven those 570 miles with the 4 speed and a 4.10 gear. I've been wanting to participate in this event for the last 13 years so your conversion enabled me to fulfill this desire. Thank you. I averaged ~ 15.5 MPG for the round trip. I don't think that's bad for a warmed over big block with a deep rear gear. I love the short, crisp shifts with the TKO vs. the Muncie. Everything looks original on the car. It doesn't look like some makeshift, hackjob conversion.
All in all I'm very pleased with the TKO conversion and have absolutely no regrets in making the change. Your quality conversion has allowed my to enjoy my hot rod in ways I couldn't before the swap. Thanks again for the great conversation.

Thanks to all at Keisler for the TKO500 kit for my 67 Chevelle. Installation instructions were complete and detailed. The tunnel modification was simple and still allowed the use of the factory molded carpet and console. With a little creativity I was able to use the factory shift lever for a completely stock look. 2200 RPM at 80mph, sweet! Thanks again, -Todd Aho, Santa Ynez, CA.

I just completed a two year restoration on a Pontiac GTO. There were many obstacles to work out on just about every aspect of the restoration, but by far, the best experience I had was with Keisler Engineering! I purchased a TKO600 5-speed and hydraulic clutch set up. When it arrived, the box had been damaged in delivery. I called Richard in tech support and told him I thought I may be missing some parts and he sent me the next day all of the contents in question!! I was floored!! He sent me extras to ensure that no matter what, I was covered! I got it done and the transmission is amazing! I got everything I paid for and more...and that is pretty much unheard of these days! I think Richard and the rest of the crew at Keisler should be commended. They provide a great product and back it up like they still own it. Thank you for everything!

Thank you Keisler for the great deal and outstanding service.
The car needed a complete restoration so I started by completely disassembling the entire car. I would want it to look basically as it did in 1965, but drive, handle and brake like the sports cars of today. The engine would be a 428 cubic inch with 4 bolt mains, painted black with tri power carburetion, polished aluminum heads, ceramic coated headers, chrome oil pan, bell-housing, timing chain cover, pulleys, nuts, bolts, washers, and accessories. It would have 4-wheel disc brakes with all polished calipers and accessories, a Keisler polished PerfectFit TKO 500 five speed transmission with overdrive, 12-bolt powder-coated rear end, boxed rear suspension and coil over front suspension, chrome sway bars in front and rear and stainless steel polished exhaust. With the help and inspiration of my wife Linda, my son Greg and caring friends I was able to build this car. I would like to think that John DeLorean and GM would approve. The restoration started in June 2005 and was completed on February 9 2007. Frank Hamby and Greg Bailey performed the bodywork at my home. James Ackman painted the body at Graphic Auto Body in Fairfield. Marty Andrews of Chuck's Auto Body in Napa performed all of the mechanical work. Gary Starr did the electrical wiring and air conditioning at my home. Scott Healy of Scooter's Customs in Fairfield finessed the finish cut and polish on the paint, moldings restoration and body assembly at my home.
I have entered the car in 14 shows and won at all 14. Some of the big ones were "First in Class" and "Outstanding Custom & Best Engine " at the 2008 San Francisco Rod & Custom Show ", first in our class at the 2008 Grand National Roadster Show, first at the 2007 Sacramento Autorama and first at the 2007 Seattle Roadster Show. Pontiac Western Regionals 2008 1st in Class, Hot O Rama Redding CA " Best of Show "

I would defnitely say that the TKO 600 transmission I bought from Keisler is the best improvement made to my El Camino! Before I never wanted to drive on the highway because the high engine RPMSs and the noise. Now when I shift into fifth gear, the RPMs drop down and the car really runs smooth. I now look forward to highway trips--maybe 2009 Power Tour? Don't hesitate if you are even considering buying one, as you will be happy you did. A TKO from Keisler just makes out cool unique cars more fun and pratical! Thanks Keisler and thanks Gene.

Thanks to Keisler Engineering for selling me a TKO-600 5-Speed (.64) Overdrive, I purchased the kit a couple of years ago and just got the car running. I can't say enough about your superior engineered 5-Speed Kit. The template and instructions made the floor cutting and fitting of the transmission a breeze. The kit fit just as you described and was just what I had hoped it would be. I am a design engineer and can appreciate what it takes to design and support such a fine kit. I had to make several calls to confirm clutch, speedometer gear and fluid type requirements, again your tech support always had a quick and friendly answer. The transmission shifts smooth as butter and beats the feel of the old sloppy 4-speed linkages from yesteryear. I am confident that my Keisler 5-Speed is a purchase experience that I won't soon forget!
