NEW TKO-500 5-speed overdrive manual transmission features:

  • 500HP/500LB-FT rating.
  • Gear Ratios: 3.27 1st; 1.98 2nd; 1.34 3rd; 1.00 4th; 0.68 5th; 3.00 reverse.
  • 1-1/16" x 10 spline Ford pattern input shaft.
  • Ford Toploader bolt pattern, fits 4.85" register hole.
  • 7.21" input shaft length; shorter 6.5" input shaft available at extra cost.
  • 31-spline output shaft.
  • Both mechanical AND electronic speedometer outputs.
  • Shifter location on-center at 16.75" or 19.5" from rear of bellhousing.
  • Reverse light switch and neutral safety switch.

Be prepared to modify your crossmember, driveshaft, floorpan, console, shifter boot, seats, wiring, speedometer cable connection, and provide various specialty hardware and sheetmetal fabrication.

Overview-Ordering

NEW TKO-500 5-speed overdrive manual transmission features:

  • 500HP/500LB-FT rating.
  • Gear Ratios: 3.27 1st; 1.98 2nd; 1.34 3rd; 1.00 4th; 0.68 5th; 3.00 reverse.
  • 1-1/16" x 10 spline Ford pattern input shaft.
  • Ford Toploader bolt pattern, fits 4.85" register hole.
  • 7.21" input shaft length; shorter 6.5" input shaft available at extra cost.
  • 31-spline output shaft.
  • Both mechanical AND electronic speedometer outputs.
  • Shifter location on-center at 16.75" or 19.5" from rear of bellhousing.  Correct shift position for 1979-2004 Mustangs, approximates the shift position of 1964-1973 Mustangs.
  • Reverse light switch and neutral safety switch.

This transmission is a near bolt-in for Fox body Mustangs.  May require a new or modified crossmember and driveshaft.  In other vehicles, be prepared to modify your crossmember, driveshaft, floorpan, console, shifter boot, seats, wiring, speedometer cable connection, and provide various specialty hardware and sheetmetal fabrication.

It is a true S code. With the help of your staff we were able to come up with the correct application for our project.  We have installed your TKO 600 RR.  This transmission works far above our expectations.  Installation was a breeze.  A few hours and were ready to roll.

The TKO 600 RR is married with a 428 CJ that is supercharged with a Pro-charger F1R. 

At the present time we are pushing 781 hp with 813 ft/# of torque.

I appreciate the fact you stood behind your product with service.  The picture is my son with the Eleanor with your Keisler five-speed behind this 428 COBRA jet.  Numerous people ask me what kind of transmission was behind this 428.  About 50% of the people knew what the Keisler five-speed is, I am doing my best to put a good word in for your company.  The shifting is phenomenally smooth and I would highly recommend it with the hydraulic clutch especially.
