Kit Components

1.  TRANSMISSION - Remanufactured T45RS-425 (425 LB-FT), customized by Keisler to bolt up to a traditional bellhousing.  A number of custom features are included (with no hidden charges) that you won't find anywhere else, including:

  • Exclusive Keisler-designed front cover allows the transmission to accept a removeable bellhousing with the 4-speed bolt pattern configuration, for direct bolt-up to your original bellhousing.
  • Custom billet aluminum short-throw shifter designed to provide better-than-stock shifting.
  • Shifter stub is on-center at 20-1/2" from the rear face of the bellhousing.  Optional Keisler ClassicFit Offset Shifter mechanism is also available, to duplicate the factory shift position in many popular musclecars!
  • Choice of electronic or mechanical speedometer output.
  • High strength 31 spline Ford pattern output shaft.
  • Includes Keisler's permanent fix (Patent Pending) for the T45 chronic reverse shifting problems - No more jumping out of reverse, gear clash, or grinding.
  • Gear Ratios: 3.37 1st, 1.99 2nd, 1.33 3rd, 1.00 4th, .67 5th; 3.22 reverse.
  • Low RPM Cruising - 33% drop in engine RPM in 5th gear (check out our Speed Analyzer).

5. PILOT BEARING - Custom Pilot Bearing adapts the input shaft to your GM, Ford, or Mopar engine.

Overview-Ordering

Keisler's T45RS Essentials Kit is for the budget-minded enthusiast that doesn't require the extra strength of the TKO.  It includes all the basic items that are required to install the T45RS-425 into your GM, Ford, or Mopar.

Optional Keisler ClassicFit™ Offset Shifter is also now available for many vehicles! It provides the same correct shift lever attachment point as our TKO PerfectFit™ series. Modification of the 4-speed shifter hole is required for some applications. (Note: If you desire minor or no modification, please see our TKO PerfectFit™ series of transmission systems).

It all started back in 2008 when I started my list of requirements to do the LS-Conversion, for Project “Evade” 68-Camaro reading several articles on Pro-touring and Lateral-g I decided to go with Keisler Engineering complete 1967-69 Camaro/Firebird 5-Speed PerfectFit Tremec Kit-TKO600, I contacted Gene Charsha with Keisler Engineering Gene was able to hook us up! with “Evades” LS-2 motor plant Producing over 500HP we need it to be Bullet proof so Gene suggested their 5-Speed PerfectFit Tremic Kit-TKO600 along with Lakewood bell housing for LS motor and Hydraulic clutch actuator kit and all the goodies that comes complete.

During the build with several e-mail’s and phone calls back and forth with Gene installing the Keisler Engineering  TKO-600 was a breeze! After the dyno we dialed it in @ 432hp @ the rear wheels! We debuted the car in Columbus Goodguys show 2009 and when I got in and drove “Evade” for the first time in Autocross @ the Goodguys show it was a blast banging through the gears! And even now driving on the Highways in Florida is Awesome!

Todd Chynoweth - '67 Firebird

I thought I would share my 1967 Firebird convertible with you, I have driven the car for two summers with the Tremec TKO 500.  I purchased the PerfectFit kit and installed it myself with no problems.  I must say it is the best upgrade that I have made to the car.  The car is much more enjoyable to drive on the highway and the fuel economy is greatly improved.
